MEET THE ARTIST

Adrianne Dimitrakakis is the artist behind Atlas The Collective.

Based in Byron Bay, her artwork is a collection of hand illustrated maps from alluring places around the world and all things inspired from her travels. The vintage aesthetic provokes thought of places yet to be

discovered. They are out there, waiting to be found.

She aims to inspire travel or remind you of that amazing trip; a true keepsake from your adventures and a reminder to keep exploring, on land and water.

THE PROCESS

Each map is hand made from start to end. I hand draw the

original artwork on acid free paper with hand torn edges.

It begins with the first layer of pencil; drawing the outline of the city or country and all the texture, terrain, compass and city details. Then various layers of the finest point of fine-liners to create all the smallest of detail. The pencil is erased and another layer of pen goes onto the paper.

It is slow yet beautiful process, and one that helps calms and let you relax and go with the flow. Allows you to be patient and enjoy watching it grow and develop into something beautiful for someone.

I would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Australian land on which I work, live and am inspired by. I pay my respects to Elders past and present and are committed to honouring Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ unique cultural and spiritual relationship to the land and water.
